About Dr. Banerjee
Dr. Banerjee's solid foundation in anatomic and forensic pathology started with training at top institutions: The University of Pennsylvania for medial school and preliminary medical year; The Johns Hopkins Hospital for Pathology residency; and The Maryland Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore, MD. Her expertise was authorized with double board certification in both Anatomic and Forensic Pathology by the American Board of Pathology.
During her career, she has conducted over 2900 autopsies including handling over 160 homicide cases. Her expertise is often requested by police or other agencies. She has been called to multiple crime scenes to provide immediate expertise. Her legal expert witness testimony has been accepted in the courts of RI, MA, NY, CT, MD and the U.S.A Marine/Navy Court.
In addition, Dr. Banerjee prides herself in academic endeavors and education. Currently, she is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Pathology at Brown University and Adjunct Professor at Boston University School of Medicine. She won a Brown University teaching award in 2019. Dr. Banerjee has also published multiple articles in peer reviewed journals.
One of her strongest skills is the ability to distill complex information and provide clear, accurate delivery to target audiences. This is why she has worked on a wide range of cases. Such high profile cases include the civil suit in the wrongful death of Breonna Taylor versus Louisville Police (12 million dollar settlement), cases for active members of the military, NSA security clearance retention among others.
